IPL 2024 Team Captain List: The upcoming season of IPL is going to be quite different from the last few seasons. This time, during the auction, the bids for many players broke records. Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in IPL history. The fast bowler Mitchell Starc was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 24.75 crore rupees. Chennai Super Kings
Just one day before the start of IPL 2024, the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings changed their captain. CSK has named Ruturaj Gaikwad as the new captain. MS Dhoni will be seen playing as a batsman this season and might bat higher in the order.
Delhi Capitals
In IPL 2023, David Warner captained the Delhi Capitals. However, this time Rishabh Pant is fully fit and will be seen leading the team. Last season, Rishabh Pant was injured in a car accident and was away from cricket for a long time. He has been working on his fitness for the past few months, so he is fully fit for IPL 2024.
Mumbai Indians
After the IPL auction, Mumbai Indians surprised everyone by appointing Hardik Pandya as the team captain. Rohit Sharma had been the captain for the last 10 seasons and had won the title five times. However, for IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians have handed the leadership to Hardik Pandya, and Rohit will be playing as a batsman this season. Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR has also made a change in captaincy before IPL 2024. The team has trusted Shreyas Iyer once again. Last season, Nitish Rana led the team but their performance was not good. They played 14 matches, winning 6 and losing 8.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Over the past few years, Sunrisers Hyderabad has changed many captains without much success. They trusted David Warner and Kane Williamson, then Aiden Markram, but none could lead the team to victory. Now, for the IPL 2024, they’ve appointed Pat Cummins as the new captain. SRH bought him for a large sum at the IPL auction. Despite having a good team combination, they finished last in the previous season, losing 10 out of 14 matches.
Gujarat Titans
The Gujarat Titans have also announced a new captain before IPL 2024. They traded Hardik Pandya from Mumbai Indians and made Shubman Gill the new captain. GT has reached the finals twice in a row and has won the title once.

Punjab Kings
Last season, the Punjab Kings chose Shikhar Dhawan to be their captain and they are trusting him again this time. But they have changed their vice-captain. Sam Curran used to be the vice-captain but now they have made Jitesh Sharma the new vice-captain.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Before IPL 2022, Virat Kohli stepped down as the captain of RCB and Faf du Plessis was made the new captain. Under Faf’s leadership, the team did well last season but did not make it to the playoffs. RCB won seven out of 14 matches and lost the same number. Before IPL 2024, the team changed its name. RCB will now be known as Royal Challengers Bangalore.
