India U19 vs South Africa U19 Semi-Finals Match Result: India won the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 match against South Africa by two wickets in a thriller at Willowmoore Park pitch in Benoni on Tuesday (February 24).

Thanks to the incredible innings by captain Uday Saharan (81) and batsman Sachin Dhas (96), India makes it to the final. Even after Team India had a terrible start (33/4 in 12 overs).

The game was won by Saharan and Dhas (171 runs off 187 balls), who combined to dominate the opposition. The two wickets that stood out were Tristan Luus (3/37) and Kwena Maphaka (3/32).

Considering the significance of the semi-final, South Africa set a respectable 245-run target. Among the batsmen with the highest run scores from the batting lineup were wicket-keeper Lhuan-dre-Pretorius (76 runs off 102 balls) and Richard Seletswane (64 runs off 100 balls). The two Indian players who took the most wickets were Raj Limabani (3/60) and Musheer Khan (2/43).

In the opening semi-final, Boys in Blues won the toss and invited the South African team to score runs. In 15 overs, South Africa scored (74/2) after a cautious start. In 50 overs, the hosts managed to score a respectable 244/7 despite lacking initiative.

Richard Seletswane and Lhuan-dre Pretorius were two of the batting lineup’s top run scorers. Tristan Luus continued to play unbeaten, scoring 23 runs off of 12 balls in a brief cameo. Among the bowlers’ wickets were Raj Limbani and Naman Tiwari. On the other hand, spinners limit the scoring rate. South Africa, therefore, never really got going in order to score a large goal.

The Indian batting lineup got off to the worst possible start to the season. The Indian batting lineup’s top order fell apart, and they were 33/4 in 12 overs. Then Uday Saharan (C) and Sachin Dhas teamed together, which swung the balance in India’s favor.

Following the introduction of Tristan and Maphaka (the tournament’s top wicket-taker), India had a brief scare when Maphaka eliminated Dhas, breaking the partnership. The captain was among the next two Indian wickets to be run out. India pulled off the victory and guaranteed their spot in the finals despite the fact that the match was truly close.
